Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can we still use paper Signature Authorization Forms?
A. Old Signature Authorization forms are only valid until Dec 31, 2007. Any new privileges granted for the 2008 calendar year must be done in the Administrative Task Authorization (ATA) Tool.
Q. I just received an email from workflow@uconn.edu stating that my action is required. What is this?
A. The ATA Tool utilizes a workflow system to route tasks between people electronically for approval. The tasks can be generated by the system or by its users. You may have received an email because the system or your department head has granted you authority within the system. The email will direct you as to what further action is required.
Q. In my absence my Unit Head, Executive Head, or Dean typically signs administrative documents. Can I / Should I grant them privileges in the ATA Tool?
A. Yes. You are able to grant signature authority to any permanent employee at the University. By granting authority within the tool, viewers are able to verify that grantees have signature authority for administrative tasks within your department. You should grant privileges to anyone you expect will need signature authority.
Q. I have been granted privileges in more than one department. Do I have to submit a signature page for each department?
A. No. Only one signature page is required per person regardless of how many departments you've been granted privileges within.
Q. I'm receiving a certificate error when I click on the link in the email from the workflow system. What do I do?
A. You'll receive a certificate error if you do not have the most current version of the UConn Root Certificate installed. You can click "Yes" or "Continue" to bypass the message.
